Professional process design, preparation and execution of negotiations

In situations requiring more than the available experience and expertise, external expert contribution can make the difference between success and an unsatisfactory result. From over 20 years of practical negotiating experience Herman Ilgen contributes to focus and creativity in the content of the negotiations, at the same time creating and maintaining an effective working relationship between the parties involved.

Successful negotiations begin with solid preparations, starting with the fundamentals. This preparation not only regards the content but also the process of the ensuing negotiations, including knowledge of the interests of all parties and insight in the personalities of the negotiators.

Herman Ilgen works from many years of experience in various circumstances in designing and implementing the complete process. He can play various roles in the negotiation process:

delegation coach

preparing the team and coaching the team during and/or between negotiation sessions;

delegation member

participating in the negotiation team, fulfilling a specific role during the negotiations; for example with a focus on the level of process and on the working relationship between the parties;

spokesman

acting as the primary negotiator for the team, allowing the other team members to take up specific roles or subjects;

independent chairman

creating and maintaining a structure and a process accepted by all parties.
