Herman Ilgen is an accredited mediator, registered at the Netherlands Mediation Institute. Herman works according to the Mediation-method, a method for alternative dispute resolution (ADR) developed in the United States.
He has over 10 years of experience in preventing and solving conflicts, especially complex conflicts between and within groups or teams of people or multiparty and multilayer conflict situations.
Frequently one or more individuals or parties feel a conflict is in the making. Negotiations are stuck in deadlock, there is an impasse from which nobody sees a way out and escalation is imminent. At the stage of (open) conflict events are more difficult to control, because very often others get involved (constituents, customers, etc.) and everyone suffers some kind of damage. It becomes increasingly difficult to be creative and see a way out of the conflict.
In several cases Herman Ilgen by conducting working conferences and /or coaching parties helped them to prevent escalation, generate new creativity and solve the problem(s) together.
Since 2006 Herman Ilgen trains mediators in advanced nonverbal communication observation skills
Herman’s training has been officially recognized by the Netherlands Mediation Institute.
