Non Verbal Signals Predict Behaviour

Deeper insight in interaction process for timely and accurate actions, interventions and decisions

Unique and advanced training for leaders, negotiators, mediators, HR-professionals, lawyers, journalists and other professionals who want to enhance their skills in attaining results in interaction processes.

  • Quickly recognize valuable information about other people’s behaviour and feelings
  • Be able to predict people’s behaviour and the interaction process and fine-tune your approach and interventions for better results
  • Understand why people will have difficulties in working together due to unconscious processes
  • See which subjects cause stress with the other party in negotiations
  • Strengthen your meta-level awareness during the process to be able to see the otherwise hidden information
  • Know your own non verbal influence on others

The training is new and unique as it provides concrete and testable skills in a field that has always been vague and difficult to grasp.

This training is an advanced type of training and therefore very intensive and compact. The theoretical basis will be illustrated with numerous images and video-fragments to develop the observation skills necessary to be able to recognize the non verbal patterns. There will be exercises in various forms to support the learning process.

The training consists of two days, separated by 3 to 4 weeks.

Goodfield & Ilgen also provide in company trainings. The basic content is the same, but the program can be tailor made to your specific needs (preparation of a negotiation, team effectiveness etc.). The training can also be conducted in English.

In the Netherlands this new training has proven to be successful for experienced professionals of various backgrounds. They all found that they were able to apply the skills learned in the training in their own practice with good, sometimes spectacular results.

The training has been recognized by the Netherlands Mediation Institute as valuable to mediators. It has been awarded with 15 Permanent Education points.

Next dates open trainings 2010 (Dutch language):

On day 1 the primary theory will be presented and exercised with. Also the participants will be able to see their own non verbal presentation and its impact on others. The participants will have the opportunity to test and exercise their observation skills in the 3 to 4 weeks leading up to day 2.

On day 2 the emphasis will be on the relationship between the non verbal patterns and a typology of behaviour that will help the professional to quickly interpret non verbal patterns in terms of the behaviour that can be expected. Furthermore on this day there will be a presentation on which course of action or intervention will be successful with the different types. There will be several and various exercises to support this learning process. Participants will receive a documentation folder that is also usable in their daily practice.
